Successful School-to-Adult Transition for Youth with Challenges

• Do you know your child’s/young adult’s rights pertaining to transition planning under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)?
• Do you know how to self-advocate and where to get help doing so if necessary to ensure that your child’s/young adult’s rights are met?
• Do you know what to expect when the system of entitlements associated with the grade school years ends and life after secondary school, and a very different adult system of services, begins?
• Are you and your child/young adult empowered with knowledge, tools, and resources to enhance opportunities for a successful transition from school to adult life?
