The New Jersey Disability Pride Parade and Celebration (NJDPP) is a grass-roots effort organized and hosted by The Alliance Center for Independence (ACI) with the support of the statewide disability community. The 6th Annual NJDPP will be held on Friday, October 7th, at 9 a.m. in downtown Trenton, NJ. Hundreds of people and organizations are expected to attend, representing a wide variety of disabilities. They will march and roll from the State House to the post-parade celebration on East Lafayette Street.
The post-parade celebration will feature a talented lineup of motivational speakers, entertainers, singers, dancers, musicians, and comedians. There will also be children’s activities, prizes and giveaways.
ACI has hosted the NJDPP since they first organized it six years ago. The event is intended to bring people and organizations together to celebrate the pride of the disability community while promoting the belief that disability is a natural and beautiful part of human diversity. It also raises national awareness of the disability community.
