After individuals with IDD receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for 24 months, Medicare starts automatically. To be eligible for DDD services, individuals with IDD must also have Medicaid. Whenever an individual has both Medicare and Medicaid, they are referred to as “dual eligible.” This virtual presentation will provide information on what families need to know when their loved one becomes dual eligible.
