NJSILC Public Forum

The New Jersey Statewide Independent Living Council (NJSILC) will be holding a public meeting to solicit feedback regarding Independent Living (IL) issues in the state.

This information is used to identify both strengths and weaknesses in service provision and to guide the Council in setting goals for the next State Plan for Independent Living in 2016.

While this Forum is being held in a northwestern county, it is open to IL consumers, their families and to disability service providers (public or private) from anywhere in the state.

If you cannot join us for this meeting, you can give commentary via letters or emails that will be read into the record during the Forum. You also may speak with the SILC Coordinator to give verbal comments that will be taken down and read into the record.

Some Guidelines:

• Please advise the Coordinator of your planned attendance (not essential).
• Please advise the Coordinator if you plan to give commentary at the session (essential).
• Please bring a written copy of your commentary (ditto).
• If you are emailing or mailing your commentary, it must reach the Coordinator by noon, Monday December 1, to be read into the record.
• However, written comments received by December 5 will be included in the final Summary Packet.

The building is accessible and Sign Language Interpreters will be available.
