Pre-ETS

¬Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) are part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and are delivered by DAWN. Pre-ETS services are available to all students and youth with disabilities to ensure they have opportunities to receive training and other services necessary to achieve competitive integrated employment, regardless of whether or not the student has applied for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services. The goal of Pre-ETS is to assist students with identifying career interests to be further explored through additional VR services in the future. Each Pre-ETS course falls under the umbrella of the 5 Components of WIAO, which include: Job Exploration Counseling, Work-Based Learning Experience, Instruction in Self-Advocacy, Workplace Readiness and Counseling and Guidance for Post-Secondary Options. A wide range of topics are covered in the courses, including vocational planning, understanding employee benefits, conflict resolution in the workplace, time management and organization, assistive technology and much more.
